Do not disappear

When you plan to be away from your Gmail Inbox for a day or two, e.g. because you're on Holiday or on a business trip, please configure “Vacation responder” in your Gmail settings.

Case: No forwarding

Please use this text if incoming email is NOT going to be forwarded to another person while you're away:

Hello and many thanks for your email, 


I'll be out of office until <DATE> with very limited access or no access to email. Also I want to let you know that your e-mail will not be automatically forwarded to my colleagues. 


With technical issues please contact <DEPUTY_EMAIL> or <PRODUCT_SUPPORT_EMAIL>. 


You can always contact support@teamdev.com, and they will pass it on to the right person. 

Case: Automatic forwarding to a deputy

Please use this text if incoming email IS going to be forwarded to another person while you're away:

Hello and many thanks for your email,  


I'll be out of office until <DATE> with very limited access or no access to email. 


Your e-mail is automatically forwarded to my colleague <FIRST NAME> <LAST NAME> (<EMAIL>), who is covering me while I'm away.

Other options

Of course, you may adjust the above texts if you need to.

Just make sure that your recipients understand what they need to do with the fact you're not available via email.
